Takahe Shoes and children 

In Takahe, we take off our shoes before we go inside. We stack up our shoes like in the picture.

      What do you notice and wonder about the picture. 

How many children do you think might be in the Takahe team today? 

• Teacher- What is the story about & What are we asked to find out?
•  Children - We can see 16 shoes, We have to find out how many people by looking at the shoes.  

Extension

What If we have 20 children in the Takahe how many shoes do you think might we have lined up ?  Remember to explain and justify your answers.
